[mesa-users] Defaults - who controls the shots?

This question concerns using MESA 7624 to calculate pre-ms models.  My
perspective is that of one who had happily used MESA 6596 for this purpose.

In MESA 7624, the controls.defaults file within /star/defaults has the
options to set the initial mass and
the value of the mixing length parameter alpha.  It had
been my practice when using MESA 6596 to set the
mass and a(MLT) in inlist_project.

What should I do in MESA 7624?  Set the values in
both places, making sure they are consistent?
