[mesa-users] Which Linux distribution to run MESA?

Hi Anne,

Does your student have a Windows laptop?  The discussion in the last few
days on MESA-users makes it sound like running MESA on a windows computer
is quite doable.  That might be the easiest path.

As far as Linux goes, most anything will do.  Rich's SDK makes the
compilers and libraries a non-issue most of the time.  For a beginner with
Linux, I'd recommend one of the popular distros (Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Fedora
or CentOS 7).  Installation is easier and you'll have a better chance that
her laptop is supported with one of these.

You'll probably get lots of suggestions, there's no right answer.  I guess
she should avoid the "expert" distros (Arch comes to mind) because they
require more knowledge of the user.
