[mesa-users] Teff fluctuation

Dear all,

In the solar-mass star calculation in version 6596, I found that Teff is fluctuating after ZAMS. The amplitude is about 100K, so it is not negligible.

My settings are:
---------------------------------
-no rotation
-create PMS model
-no mass loss/gain
-MLT: Henyey
-atm: photosphere_tables
-varcontrol_target = 1d-4
---------------------------------
For more details, please check the attached inlist file.

I have not seen this fluctuation in the previous calculation under the similar settings with version 4798. And even in ver. 6596, when the diffusion was off, the fluctuation disappeared.

My question is: Was the calculation of diffusion changed? Is there another reason for the fluctuation?

I apologise if it is a result of an old version. I appreciate any hints.
Thanks in advance!

Best reagards,
Masanobu
