Hi Spencer,

Please check your inlist to see if you have turned this off for your tests:


            !### smooth_convective_bdy

            ! Apply smoothing to abundances in newly nonconvective regions.

         smooth_convective_bdy = .true.


Also, please plot nuclear burning rates in the region just outside of the convection zone.
could mu be changing by low level burning?
