Could you elaborate on your question a bit?

+ Is there a phase of evolution where you're running into timestep
troubles?

+ Is there something that doesn't physically happen that you think
should happen?

I (and others) have been working to improve the some of the weak
reactions that can occur these and other similar stars, but not all of
those things have landed in released versions of MESA yet.

So one possible answer may be: wait six months :)
