[mesa-users] Test output, pgplot error

Hi,

After a small hiatus for classes, I started looking into MESA again for my
project. After updating to build 6028, I was running through the getting
started example, and the code was able to run through some of the
calculations but had an error when it ran into the pgplot commands:



save LOGS/profile1.data for model 1
PGPLOT /xw: Waiting for /home/mickey/mesasdk/pgplot/pgxwin_server to start
(timeout in 7 seconds).
PGPLOT /xw: Timed out waiting for program
/home/mickey/mesasdk/pgplot/pgxwin_server to start


 PGSTAR: failed to open /xwin

 please check that X Window System is running
 and that you have set the environment variables
 DISPLAY :0
 PGPLOT_DEV /xwin
 and also that you have set PGPLOT_DIR and PGPLOT_FONT


 TRho_Profile ierr          -1
 init_pgstar ierr          -1
 onScreen_Plots ierr          -1
 update_pgstar_plots ierr          -1

So, it seems x window system is not running, and I have to set some
environment variables concerning the display.

Any advice on what to do? I am running on an Ubuntu 64bit VM, and have
practically no experience with linux-based systems and hardly any
programming experience, either.
