[mesa-users] unsmoothed element abundance for MESA version of 6208

   Thank you very much for your advice.
   According to your advice, I made a lot of attempts and found the phenomenon still appear.
   The control of 'mesh_delta_coeff' seems to can not correct the abnormal profile. I set it as 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 and calculate the evolution. The abnormal profile alway appears. The following two pictures show the hydrogen profile with mesh_delta_coeff=1.5 and mesh_delta_coeff=0.3, resecptively.



 
It can be found from the two pictures that the parameter of mesh_delta_coeff is not the main factor for such phenomenon. For the two pictures their mesh numbers are about 1200 and 5000, respectively.

      mesh_delta_coeff = 1.5
This gives you a very coarse mesh grid in the model, and is just good for a quick evolution of a model. However, from your email, I cannot see if you changed this or not.
So, take another look, and set it to something like 0.5 or less and retry. 
Let us know if that improves the meshing.
