It was indeed a matter of doing a clean svn checkout and a ./install again
--provided that the gcc and gfortran scripts in $MESASDK_ROOT/bin/ are
modified as you suggested in an older thread:

FWIW, gcc --version reports:
gcc.exec (GCC) 4.10.0 20140710 (experimental)
So, I gladly report that the new sdk (with a minor mod) together with the
latest mesa release work fine in Debian.
