[mesa-users] New inlist prep tool: MesaScript

Greetings, MESA Users,  

I made my Friday night exciting by refining a new tool for generating MESA inlists that some of you might find useful. I’m calling it MesaScript, because it’s almost a mini programming language, albeit one you probably already know, the MESA inlist language (if you can call what you put in an inlist a “language”).  

Essentially you can write pseudo inlists, but within those inlists, you can use variables, conditional statements, loops, etc. I wanted this functionality several months ago when I was doing parameter space studies with MESA and found myself doing a lot of find/change work on a template inlist or other such hacks. Now I can just write one script that could generate hundreds of inlists, taking care of the details for me.

There’s an example in there as well as a detailed README that should get you going. I’ve even made a tool that will convert an existing inlist to a MesaScript file so you can get working on existing projects fast.
