[mesa-users] mesa problems with the newly added OP opacity tables for a05 and a09 -- the old OP gs98 tables are fine

Hi Aaron,

It looks like the OP monochromatic tables that we have are no higher in resolution than the OPAL format so there's no advantage to using them to create mesa tables over just using the standard OP tables from their website.   At least that's my understanding of this part of the OPCD manual:




The spacing of 0.05 and 0.50 match the spacing in the OPAL format.  At least that's my read of things.  You might check it.

Oh well....... getting higher resolution was a nice idea, but apparently it's a no go.  At least not unless we get the q=f mesh -- that's what I'd really like!    I wonder if the q=f mesh actually exists?  If so, it would be great if OP would provide an option to produce tables at that high resolution for users.   Modern machines have plenty of room for the 4x larger tables -- it is a shame to give up the resolution if it isn't necessary.
