How do you propose to get around this inconsistency?  If you can't make kap tables that go above logT = 8 but you need to have opacities for helium burning and beyond, it sounds like you are stuck.    For logT beyond the table (8.7 for OPAL, 8.0 for OP), mesa/kap switches over to Compton.  Electron conduction is also included of course.  So if you want to stay pure OP, you need to be clear what that means: Compton for logT > 8.0.   You'll have to decide if that is better than introducing the inconsistency of blending over to OPAL Type2 for logT in the 8.0 to 8.7 range.   Pick your poison!
