I'll bet that when the ./rn script is being executed, the current
working directory is not the same as the directory you executed ls in.

Also, I'm going to hazard a guess that you're running this on a cluster,
and that the likely culprit is some aspect of your job submission
script.  If I'm right, feel free to attach that too.

What happens if you just do
./star_solar_life
in the directory where you executed ls?
