[mesa-users] star_solar_life file not found

I am trying to run the test code found in
mesa/star/test_suite/1M_pre_ms_to_wd. I copied the code to another
location, deleted the mesa_dir variable from the makefile and inlist (I
have MESA_DIR set in .bashrc), and then ran the code using ./rn. However,
the code quits immediately with the error:

line 3: ./star_solar_life: No such file or directory

The file actually does exist in the proper directory:

$ ls
.      LOGS   plotters src
..      make   profile_columns.list  star_history
clean      mesa_dir.rb  re star_profile
history_columns.list  mk   rn star_solar_life
inlist      photos   rn.e49857 .svn
inlist_1.0      plot_data    rn.o49857

What should I do for mesa to recognize the star_solar_life file? Thanks for
any assistance.
