We have now run this issue down. Most of the chaotic behavior is related to
mixing, hence to turbulence, hence to the Lorenz attractor, which is indeed
chaotic. Fluctuations are a part of turbulence. Our goal should be a
statistically valid representation of the average case, with estimates of
the range of outliers. Imho.
