Hello Chris,
ok, it was actually easier than I thought. Here is a quick fix that should allow you to use mesa.py:
1 - download the nugrid_pylib libraries (http://forum.astro.keele.ac.uk:8080/nugrid/copy_of_releases-and-software-downloads/python-tools/nugrid_pylib.tar/view). It includes a few things you don't really care about, but it does contain mesa.py as well as the missing module.
2 - one issue is that the mesa.py file in the nugrid_pylib directory is the old version of mesa.py, so replace it by the new version you previously downloaded (http://forum.astro.keele.ac.uk:8080/nugrid/copy_of_releases-and-software-downloads/python-tools/mesa.py/view)
You should now be able to import mesa in your python session. I have just tried it successfully on my laptop.
I must apologize for such a silly procedure. I cannot change the main tree as I dont have access to the server right now.
We will set up a better way to download mesa.py (and all the required modules) at some point next week. In the meantime, you should be able to get going.
Let me know.
Cheers,
JC

Hi Chris,
I am sorry for the trouble. We did something wrong today with the main tree. data_plot should not be imported.
We'll fix that and let you know as soon as it is working again. It should not take long.
Cheers,
JC

This tool requires the files from nugrid_pylib. Are you trying to just
use the mesa.py file all by itself? (Or if you have those, some path
may be set incorrectly.)

Hi Falk,
I'm eager to give this a shot, but I'm failing at the import step:
In [2]: import mesa

ImportError Traceback (most recent call last)

113 '''
114 import numpy as np
--> 115 from data_plot import *
116 import numpy as np
117 import matplotlib
ImportError: No module named data_plot
This is running "ipython --pylab --profile=numpy". python version
2.7.3, ipython version 0.12.1. What am I missing?
