Recall that the grid resolution to set to satisfy the most restrictive requirement at each location.
If some thing else is calling for fine resolution, then relaxing xa_mesh_delta_coeff will have no effect.
For advanced burning, the grid might be determined by the rate of change of burning for different categories.
Are you setting things like mesh_dlog_burn_o_dlogP_extra in your inlist? You might try increasing the value
which will allow larger changes. If you don't have them in your inlist, copy them from controls.defaults.
Try changing all of them to 1.0 to see if that changes your mesh resolution.
