How do we know that the evolution on the MS should be smooth?

I agree that glitches are usually due to errors, but we should not forget
that chaotic behavior can and does glitch. Turbulent convection is chaotic,
by almost everyone's definition. Mixing length has essentially NO physics
for convective boundaries.

In summary, anyone following this subject should be aware of the above. My
current paper is in progress on this issue of turbulent boundary layers.
