Kevin:

I agree with your comment that ifort 11.1 may not be sufficient to
compile the later versions of mesa.

I was having similar problems compiling mesa version 4219 on my
laptop. In particular, I was having "Object is not a pointer object"
errors. I googled the error and all I could find was that I had to
update my compiler. I was using ifort 11.1. I upgraded to the newest
ifort (12 something) and that solved the problem for me. That may be
the reason why the program compiles on your own machine but not on
Triton.
