Hi Jing,

After getting your email I've played around with diffusion induced H flashes with He wd a little.
Keep in mind that this has not been carefully tested -- it is just a "demo", not "science". !!!  

The following plots show mesa/star with diffusion enabled for 2 small he wd's -- 0.15 and 0.20 Msun.
The smaller one does stable H burning while the larger one undergoes flashes.

The starting models both come from mesa/data/star_data/white_dwarf_models.
Here's the inlist I used with my current version (4304) which should be compatible with 4298 for this.

I'm not going to have more time to put into this soon -- but I hope these examples help.
