Hi,
no you need both. The 'relax_irradiation' helps you getting started by
relaxing the star as you turn on irradiation progressively. The section
in your inlist should look like:
----------------------------------------------------
set_irradiation = .true.
relax_irradiation = .true.
relax_irradiation_min_steps = 200
relax_irradiation_max_yrs_dt = 1d-1
new_irrad_flux = 1d7 ! erg s^-1 cm^-2
new_irrad_col_depth = 1 ! g cm^-2
----------------------------------------------------
