mesa-users] Massive stars not reaching TPAGB

Hi,

I previously discussed how intermediate mass stars (around 5 Msun) would not
reach the planetary nebula phase.  It seems it gets worse for more massive
stars, as all the stars above 6 Msun that I tried to run ended on the
horizontal branch or on the ascent of the AGB.

It's really important for what I'm doing that I cover at least a significant
portion of the TPAGB for stars up to 10 Msun.  I've included a saved model
of a 6.5 Msun star, not long before it crashes, as well as the full log of
its evolution and the inlist file.  I haven't been able to see what causes
the star to crash like this.  Could anyone help?

Also, if this is of interest to you, I've found that the limiting mass
beyond which stars might not reach the planetary nebula phase is 2.6 Msun.
I'm trying to obtain relatively finely spaced tables and this is the first
one that ended in the TPAGB.  Strangely, the 2.8 Msun star runs just fine
until the WD stage, while the 3 Msun star also fails to get out of the
TPAGB. I'd say this range of masses is probably a good area to search for a
solution to this problem.
