Dear MESA users,

We are often faced with the issue of what compiler version MESA works with.
We would like to provide information on (at least) the minimum version
numbers for ifort and gfortran for a given OS.

If you are able to successfully compile and run a fairly recent version of
MESA (version > 2700), please do us the courtesy of sending information
about your compiler and OS.

On Mac and Linux systems, the following commands will tell us what we want
to know. For example,

> ifort -V #note uppercase V
Intel(R) Fortran Compiler Professional for applications running on IA-32,
Version 11.1 Build 20100414 Package ID: l_cprof_p_11.1.072

or

> gfortran --version
GNU Fortran (GCC) 4.4.5 20101112 (Red Hat 4.4.5-2)

and

> uname -a
Linux 2.6.33.6-147.fc13.i686 #1 SMP Tue Jul 6 22:30:55 UTC 2010 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux

To spare the rest of the community, you can just reply to me. We will
compile the results and post them on the web page.

Thanks for your help!
Aaron
